The 2008 schedule has been released!
* Dates: Fridays and Saturdays, July 11 - August 30
* Time: Movies begin at dusk
* Cost: FREE with ticket/family 4-Packs available at the Chesterfield and Doling Family Centers, Mediacom Ice Park, the Busch Municipal Building, and Mediacom Offices (1533 S. Enterprise). Admission without a free ticket is $5; children 5 years of age and under are always free.
There will be some short films created by local film makers shown prior to the main feature on Saturday’s. MFAS has been working with the City to identify 5-10 minute long films that are family friendly to be included. Feel free to contact me if you have a film you would like to be considered.
The season opens with an old favorite and a pair of old coots:
July 11 – “Wizard of OZ” (G) - Dorothy lives on a farm in Kansas until a cyclone arrives, and picks her, her house, and her dog up and deposits them in the land of Oz. Wishing to return home, she travels to the Emerald City to find the great wizard. On her way she meets a Scarecrow who needs a brain, a Tin Man who wants a heart, and a Cowardly Lion who desperately needs courage. They all hope the Wizard of Oz will help them before the Wicked Witch of the West catches up with them.
July 12 – “The Bucket List” (PG-13) - Corporate billionaire Edward Cole and working class mechanic Carter Chambers have nothing in common except for their terminal illnesses. While sharing a hospital room together, they decide to leave and do everything they’ve dreamed of doing before dying. In the process, both of them heal each other, become unlikely friends, and ultimately find the joy in life.
